Chinatown Line Drawings
I drew 282 line drawings of Chinatown storefronts as illustrative PSAs to support small businesses affected by the pandemic from March 21, 2020 - May 29, 2020. Chinatown businesses were hit especially hard due as many people blamed Asians and Asian Americans for COVID-19. I wanted to create an illustrated artifact of a vibrant intergenerational and multi-cultural community.
These drawings were featured in Artsy, Refinery29, New York Magazine, and Asian American Arts Alliance.
Social Media Infographic Posts
I shared these line drawings through social media and used red to indicate businesses open during the lockdown, and black for those closed at the time.
